Business Model Canvas 2

HERE are the further explanation of Business model canvas....

5 . Revenue Streams (RS)

     Revenue streams represents the cash a company generates form each customer segment. Our profit mostly comes from advertisement. Each advertisement that advertise on our website/blog are charged with reasonable price. Data and information will distribute to everyone as they are our members. Besides that, our clients such as Maxis, if they would like to have sampling (free simcard) to UM students, we can help them to distribute the sample. However, we will charged them for each sample.


6 . Key Resource (KR) 
      Key resources basically are the people, technology, products and brand required to deliver the value proposition to the targeted customer. Our key resources are divided to 2 categories which are HUMAN and  FINANCIAL. Human is refer to workers and targeted customers while Financial is the cost that involve in the business plan. For human, we must find 'alert' workers who always take care on the events info  and targeted customers who are potential to contribute to our business plan. For financial, there are divide to 2 'smaller groups' that are variable cost and operation cost. Variable cost is salaries of the workers who collect the updated information to us and operation cost is the advertisement that clients advertise on our website/blog.
 
7 . Key Activities (KA) 
Key activities are some activities would be organised  by us to let our business model run smoothly. Here are some activities that must be done like creating a website/blog and networking. Besides that,company and brands must be involved,so that our business model only can be work smoothly. We must also keep in touch with the users and clients as they would not run away from our business model. For instance,we can use Facebook or twitter to have a longer relationship with them and take some feedback from them so that, we can enhance better services to them.


8 . Key Partnership (KP)
Key partners are the partners of our business to help us to make the business model works effectively. Why we need partners in our Business model? Partner can be share experience & skills and can reduce the risks as all the partners will share the liabilities together. Our partners have 2 categories that are internally or externally of University of Malaya . Internal are Clubs & Society, H.E.P and external such as Company and Brands.

9 . Cost Structures (CS)

Cost structure are the cost acquired to operate the business model. Our cost structure are fixed costs and operation costs. Fixed cost could be the salaries of the workers while operation cost is income from the advertisements.

There are nine basic blocks in the Business Model Canvas. So, basically,our business plan are based on it.

What are the 9 basic blocks? There are below as the following :
1 - Customer Segments
2 - Value Propositions
3 - Channels
4 - Customer Relationship
5 - Revenue Streams
6 - Key Resources
7 - Key Activities
8 - Key Partnership
9 - Cost Structure




Today we need to identify 4 out of 9 basic blocks which are ‘Customer Segments’, ‘Value Propositions’, ‘Channels’  and ‘Customer Relationships’.

These four elements are important as we need to know who our customers are, benefits to have this business plan to satisfy the customer needs and  how we can promote our business. Besides that, what services we can provide to attract them to use and how we can maintain a good relationship with customers. 

Ok. Now let start the 4 0f 9 items of the Business Model Canvas first in this part in the below :



1 . Customer Segments (CS)
     The customer segment is defined as different group of people or organization an enterprise to reach and serve. We have divided it to two categories such as USERS and CLIENTS as our targets. Users are ALL UM students and Malaysia Citizens, while our Clients are Clubs & Societies, Colleges, Faculty, Brands, Company, H.E.P ( UM ). Users are free of charge while clients are charged with every advertisement that they want to advertise on our website/blog.

2 . Value Propositions (VP)
     The value proposition is to solve the customer problems and satisfies the customer demand. Therefore, our website/blog must have interesting designs. We also need to make sure that we are update the info of events oftentimes, so that the users would not be the last ones to know the info. This is to ensure effective  services and ensure the users friendly. Customers satisfactions is priority. Moreover, if the website/blog has strong outreach (eg. 20,000 UM students), the clients would be more confident to let us advertise theirs advertisement. It must be focus or targeted. It is flexible that almost campus youth is suitable.

3 . Channels (CH)
     Channels is a way of communicating and reaching its customer segment to deliver a value proposition. We have 2 categories for the way to promote like for users and clients.The social media is considered as a powerful 'weapon' to reach out to a lot of students. Facebook, twitter, blog are more likely as a communication places for everyone. Furthermore, 'siswamail' and flyer  are the others way to promote this business plan to users. Not only that, we can expose our  business plan to clients by website/email ,face to face, networking events or even launch a party.

4 . Customer Relationships (CR)

Customer relationship describes the the types of relationships of company establishes with specific customer segment. Since we create a business ideas which are connected between customers and us,  we must build a strong relationship between them. For example, we can deal face to face with the clients to persuade them to advertise at our website/blog. We also can organize some weekly events parties to enhance our relationships between customers. Furthermore, forums and clubs gathering would be launch sometimes. Another way is using feedback to alter our service to make our business more better.

Problems + Business Ideas


The Events Info.

Problems :-
As we live in the university, sometimes there are just too many events that are beyond our capability to take note and have all the information about. Because who know's, maybe these events are important for your studies or a huge opportunity for you to gain new experiences by participating in it. Being a student in the university, we always have the same problems, 'assignments' and 'deadline'. But on the same times, the university held a lot of events as a good studies resource and experiences for the students. But, looks like we are just too busy with assignments and hardly to have a look at events and have some info about it. Well, there's an effective way to help you out : )


Business Ideas :-
We come out with a solution which is to build and design the university's own website/blog that will update not just the students but also all the community in Malaysia about the info of events in University Malaya.

-For every events, we will subdivided into "smaller groups" of pages ( ex: sports, education, hobbies)
so that it's easier for people to choose the specific info that they wanted to know. 
-Benefits:-
   >Students can plan their time and assignments to take part in the events

   >Easier for students to find any club or society to participate as usually these club/society will have   their intake for student participation in any events.

   >We'll inform the most exquisite info and the 'awesome factor' for every events.

   > It will be a good chance for any outsider to participate in the events ( ex: to open their own food stall, book store, etc or just to have fun and experiences )

Basically, our profit will be coming through the 'service' of the website/blog.

Solution ...



We come out a solution which is to build and design the university's own website/blog that will be update frequently.
This website/blog not only for the University of Malaya students but also the community in Malaysia about the info of events. Our objective is to provide an easier way for the students and Malaysia citizens to know what are the events would be hold in University of Malaya and know the info of the events. But firstly, they must be our members. And we do not charge on any membership fee as we know that students incomes are comes from parents or scholarship or loan that used in academic fees and others. So that it is FREE.

Moreover, our clients are for those who want to advertise theirs events effectively to the students through our website/blog or even promote their products. Our clients could be subdivided to internal and external in the university. Internal like club & society, faculty, colleges,H.E.P and external such as Brands and Company. Our profits are come from the advertisements that we will charged it with rational price.

By now, since there is no such this kind of business plan in  UM,we do not need to compete with others. However, if later the competitor emerge, we will try to maintain users as our members by giving them some gifts for those who hit our targets 
( ex. the highest times he join the events after take a look at our website/blog )

However, how we can solve the problems that we make? Then the ‘what, why, who and how’ elements are come to our minds.




WHAT
What the problem we face?

We do not have a platform for UM students to have a look at the events info.

WHY
Is this problem existing and real in the world?

As we live in the university, there are a lot of events that surrounding us. However, is that we have the ability to make note about all these events and getting their information. Besides that, being a university students, we are buried by 'assignment' and 'deadline' or 'tutorial' and 'exam'. Meanwhile, there are many events are organised around that can as a good studies resource. Though, we are too busy on our academics, we are hardly to take a look at the events and the info about it.
Here, we are provide you an effective way to help you out. (^+^)



WHO
Who are the target businesses?

The target of our business ideas are the followings :



1) UM students

2) Malaysian citizens who like to open stall in UM ( if any  
    events needed)

3) Clients that would like to advertise on our website ( ex :     
    club & societies, Brands, Company, Faculty )


HOW
How we can solve all the problems that we face? What are the solutions?

We come out a solution which is to build and design the university's own website/blog that will be update frequently.
This website/blog not only for the University of Malaya students but also the community in Malaysia about the info of events.

Research

Firstly, we conducted survey of 30 students to answer our inquiries. For the results of our research, we found that really a lot of UM students do not take a look at the events info although it put on flyer or on the boards at faculty or even colleges that we live. But mostly of the students are online everyday such as log in Facebook.

Three Problems and Solutions

"So regarding to the APK programme, we are required to find problems in our community and social interaction throughout our daily life as to create Our Business Plan !"

"Before I start to state the problems, just want to inform you guys that all of our problems is in the scope of University of Malaya surroundings"

And this is what we have in mind : )

1)Easy-going Breakfast.
Yeah. A real food in a real morning. Isn't its an everyday's hope to have a breakfast right away straight after you woke up from sleep, instead of having late a morning(afternoon) which is a brunch ??




Problem :-
We find a lot of students in Universiti of Malaya have a very hard time to have breakfast because most of the class starts early in the morning and sometimes the class will lead straight to afternoon period ; where in the end lead them to 'brunch'.. without breakfast.

Most of the cafe will not open in the earliest time in the morning.


Solutions :-
We plan to build an ordering system for breakfast foods ; where it's easy and efficient for students to have their breakfast : )

-Ordering will be done from 10pm-12am (means the night before tomorrow's breakfast)

-Ordering will be done through phones, social network(internet) and etc.

-List of breakfast that can ordered will shown through blogs or social network(ex: facebook)

-Profits will be coming from additional charges for the foods order ; in other words..we sell 'service'.

-Breakfast will be send straight to your room.

-You can have your breakfast with a big smile on your face every morning : )


Lacks :-
For this system the main problem would be on :-

-Transportation and lack of workers ; where is would hard to find an optimum number of workers and transportation to send every breakfast foods to every room in every college in University of Malaya.

-If the number students that using our system reached possibly of 50 students, try to imagine; trying to send 50 breakfast beverages to every room. A lot of workers will be needed to get this thing going efficiently to prevent any late breakfast for the students.


2) Dinner.
This business plan is actually will be the same with the "Easy-going Breakfast".





Problems :-
The different about the system is that the food will not be send to your room. Basically, this ordering is build because students always have difficulties to receive their dinner food ; which they have to wait for a long queue. Because usually dinner will be a very peak period for students to come to the cafe to have their dinner, which is will be very pack and tiring.

Solution :-
Therefore we build a easy and efficient system where almost the same as "Easy-going Breakfast"
but differ by :-

-Ordering will be done from 5 pm-6 pm

-Ordering will be done through phones, social network(internet) and etc.

-List of dinner foods that can ordered will shown through blogs or social network(ex: facebook)

-Profits will be coming from additional charges for the foods order ; in other words..we sell 'service'.

-You can set at what time your dinner to be ready for you to have it.

-Dinner will be ready at the time you set your own to take the foods.

-You can have your dinner with a big smile on your face every night without waiting for a long queue : )

Lacks :-
The problem would not be transportation or lack or workers because foods will not be send to everyone. Is just that, the preparation of foods must be up-to date and ready on time to prevent students waiting for along time to have their dinner.


3) Rent for an Umbrella.
Don't you feel stress and fed up when it's suddenly rain and your movement to your college and classes is disturbed and blocked ? Well, there is a solution for you : )


Problems :-
We know maybe someone of us would bring an umbrella throughout the day as a careful caution if the rain goes down. But usually the umbrella would be small; just enough for one person..as people usually bring the smaller ones because it's easier, portable and can fit into their bags. 

And some just do not bring an umbrella with them. So, if the rain comes down...it would be a big problem for them; stuck at their present place.

Solutions :-
Here, we plan an easy-rental of an umbrella for all students which will not make them suffer of worrying if the rain comes :-

-The umbrella provided for rental is a "big-size umbrella" and "transparent" which make it more stylish.

-For a start, a the UM main library would be a good place to start cause there will be a lot of people come in and out of the library everyday.

-After finish renting, the umbrella must be return to each office college or representative that is responsible in collecting the umbrella.

Lacks :-
There will be a lot of problem of missing umbrella as some students may not being responsible when renting the umbrella. Besides that, the costing of providing all of the umbrella would be very high. Lastly, the mechanism and system of the renting would need a lot of work and corporation from every sector in the university.


4) The Events Info.
As we live in the university, sometimes there are just too many events that are beyond our capability to take note and have all the information about. Because who know's, maybe these events are important for your studies or a huge opportunity for you to gain new experiences by participating in it.

Lacks :-
There are not much lacks of this idea, is just that we need a good source of the event info so that we can update it from time to time and in immediately. And it needs a lot of marketing and promotion to make the website/blog known to everyone; so that everybody will be using it.

First Class Reflection

Hello,this is my first time using blogger.HaHa(^V^).It is quite nice too where we can express our feeling at here and share with others.

What I feel?

Strictly speaking,I no interested and i know nothing about business and entrepreneurship at the first place.I always chatting or even do others subject tutorials in APK class.hehe(^.^).Therefore,after class,i learn nothing.However, one day when Ms Zhen Cui came in,she had asked us about 'what is entrepreneurship'?Then,the whole class became quite.After that,only had some students answered the questions. Before that, Ms Zhen had given us some IQ.(what i think la).Wow,the whole class students were thought the answers.Although I can't solve the IQ and even not the better student in the class, i felt excited when thought the answer.(Do not know so long i didn't use my brain to think questions.).This is the first class i had pay my attention to listen.THANKS MS ZHEN CUI. It is really impressive. At least, i know what i was learning now.
